CNC Machine Operator – 2nd & 3rd Shift
Location: Toledo, OH
Shift Availability:
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
We are currently seeking experienced and motivated CNC Machine Operators to join our manufacturing team for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Job Summary
The CNC Machine Operator (Cell Set-Up and Operate) is responsible for the safe setup and operation of a variety of production machines. This role ensures parts are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with quality standards and production specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Set up and operate production machinery according to process documentation and engineering prints. Assigned equipment may include CNC machines, lathes, and similar equipment.
- Select, align, and securely install fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and related materials.
- Load, position, and secure workpieces onto machine tables, fixtures, or holding devices.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
- Identify machining issues, malfunctions, or out-of-tolerance conditions and take appropriate corrective action.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (gauges, calipers, micrometers) to ensure compliance with quality, functional, and cosmetic requirements.
- Verify measuring instruments are properly calibrated and in good working order prior to use.
- Maintain accurate production records, including quantities produced and documentation of rejected or scrapped parts.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, adjustments, and basic maintenance such as lubrication, cleaning, pump-outs, minor repairs, and alignment checks.
- Change cutting tools and adjust machine settings in accordance with instructions and process documentation.
- Review blueprints, production schedules, and work instructions to ensure proper setup and sequence of operations.
- Prepare fixtures and operate machine centers efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
CNC/Machine Operator required for this role
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and machine operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of and commitment to proper safety protocols.
- Ability to evaluate machine performance and determine proper settings such as cutting speeds, feed rates, and fixture alignment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read instructions, operate machinery, and inspect precision parts.
