About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Borescope Inspection Technician. In this role, you will perform internal visual inspections of engine blocks, cylinders, combustion chambers, and related components using borescope equipment to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Perform borescope inspections on engine blocks, internal passages, cylinder heads, and precision-machined components.

Identify and document defects such as cracks, porosity, tool marks, foreign material, and structural anomalies.

Interpret inspection findings and compare results to engineering drawings, tolerance requirements, and quality criteria.

Prepare detailed inspection reports including photos, measurements, and pass/fail assessments.

Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production staff to communicate defects and recommend corrective actions.

Maintain and calibrate borescope equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Follow established safety protocols and quality procedures (ISO/AS standards if applicable).

Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Experience
-
Experience in automotive, diesel, aerospace, or industrial engine manufacturing.

Hands-on experience with machine shop or precision-manufacturing environments.
Qualifications

Experience operating rigid and flexible borescope systems (Olympus, Hawkeye, GE, or equivalent).

Strong understanding of engine components, machining processes, and internal geometries.

Background in quality inspection, nondestructive testing, or mechanical/automotive technology.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and inspection criteria.

Excellent visual acuity and attention to detail.

Strong documentation and communication skills.

NDT certifications (VT, MT, PT) preferred but not required.
