Position Summary
The Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician is responsible for the fabrication, modification, and repair of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices according to company quality standards and specifications. This role supports clinicians and other team members in delivering exceptional products and patient outcomes.
Essential Functions

Fabricate and repair orthotic and/or prosthetic devices in accordance with prescribed specifications and company standards.

Perform ordering, receiving, and inventory management tasks as assigned.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Adhere to all safety policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead technician.
Required Skills & Abilities

Knowledge and hands-on skills in fabricating and repairing prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (orthopedic braces).

Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination to safely and effectively use laboratory tools.

Effective organizational, time management, and planning abilities.

Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills for working with team members.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Willingness to learn company policies, procedures, and fabrication standards.

Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete routine tasks under close supervision.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Prior experience in orthotic and/or prosthetic fabrication preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.

Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and processes used in an O&P laboratory setting.

[Optional: Certification or training from an accredited O&P technician program preferred.]
Working Conditions

Work performed in a laboratory setting with exposure to machinery, tools, and fabrication materials.

Requires standing, lifting, and manual dexterity for extended periods.

Must follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
