Job Title: Sheet Metal Machine Technician/Programmer II
Location: Fridley, MN
Position Overview
The Sheet Metal Machine Technician/Programmer II is responsible for programming and operating sheet metal fabrication equipment, including punch presses, press brakes, and other machinery used in precision metal manufacturing. This position utilizes CAD/CAM software to translate design specifications into machine-readable instructions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality production.
This role supports the daily execution of fabrication activities, including programming, setup, quality control, and equipment maintenance, while promoting a safe and productive work environment. The facility primarily manufactures products using 14- to 20-gauge sheet metal. Hours for this position are flexible.
Key Responsibilities

Program sheet metal fabrication equipment, including punch presses and press brakes

Operate machinery to produce high-quality sheet metal parts to specification

Translate design drawings into production programs using CAD/CAM software

Perform regular quality checks and maintain established production standards

Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and work area

Support maximum equipment utilization and adherence to production schedules

Enforce and follow all Safety Program policies and procedures

Combine programming and machine operation duties as part of daily workflow
Qualifications and Skills

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for sheet metal fabrication

Experience programming and operating punch presses, press brakes, and/or laser cutting machines

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

Familiarity with precision measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and computer-based inspection systems

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15 lbs regularly

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Requirements

Experience in sheet metal programming and manufacturing

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required

Ability to travel for up to one week for training
