This position is responsible for setting up and operating one or more of the following pieces of equipment: surface grinder, tool and cutter grinder, milling machines, lathes, saws and any other pieces of equipment at are required to perform the daily task. Will work help and support the Master Tool Builders as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Follow directions from the Value Stream Manager of the PBU or their designee.
- Adhere to all Environmental, Health & Safety rules.
- Help support and maintain all 6S standards in your immediate work area and others as needed.
- Follow instructions and guidelines.
- Work with close tolerances turning and/or milling.
- Make sure all safety equipment and safety regulations are adhered to when operating machinery.
- Maintain a 40-hour work week and ability to work overtime as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as directed.
- Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18801 certification requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
- Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge and Skill Requirement:
This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:
- High school diploma.
- 3 years’ experience operating CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
- Good working knowledge of calculating angles and Radius’s. (preferred)
- Ability to proficiently operate over head and jib cranes.
- Good working knowledge of standard shop mathematics.
- Ability to fluently read and write G-Code.
- Ability to effectively use measuring equipment such as calipers (digital, dial and vernier), Micrometers, pie tapes, tape measure etc.
- Able to work from blueprints, sketches and/or verbal descriptions for planning operational sequences.
