Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates
• Quote material, labor, subcontracting, and equipment costs for custom metal fabrication projects
• Collaborate with project teams to assess manufacturability, lead times, and shop routing
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to confirm pricing and availability
• Support inside sales with timely, accurate quotes and follow-up
• Track scope changes and update estimates accordingly
• Identify opportunities to improve pricing strategies and shop efficiency

 Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fabrication estimating (steel, stainless, structural, or custom metalwork)
• Strong blueprint reading and understanding of fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding, machining)
• Familiarity with job travelers, shop scheduling, and routing
• Proficient in estimating software, Excel, and general job costing methods
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple quotes simultaneously
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
