Job Posting: Centerless Grinder Operator

Location: Commerce, CA
Pay Rate: DOE
Shift: 9:00pm to 5:30 am

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Centerless Grinder Operator to join our team. In this role, you will set up and operate centerless grinding machines to produce precision metal components according to blueprint specifications and exacting tolerances. You will determine proper sequences of grinding operations, select tooling, dress wheels, and ensure high-quality results while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate centerless grinding machines under general direction and supervision.
Mount, dress, and adjust grinding and regulating wheels to meet job requirements.
Plan and perform grinding operations to achieve tolerances of ± .0005.
Select proper speeds, feeds, fixtures, and abrasives to optimize efficiency.
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work instructions.
Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
Perform first article inspections and verify part dimensions and tolerances.
Maintain production logs, counts, and process documentation.
Participate actively in problem-solving, teamwork, and process improvement activities.
Assist other team members as needed to meet production goals.

Resume
Experience operating center less grinding machines (preferred, but training may be provided for the right candidate).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to very tight tolerances.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to follow safety rules and company procedures.
