The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining production and quality standards by ensuring the proper operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoots issues, and supports compliance with safety, quality, and SQF requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines by following diagrams, manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.

Troubleshoot malfunctions by observing equipment in operation, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.

Dismantle devices and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools; inspect parts for wear and damage.

Determine dimensional changes in parts by using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Adjust functional parts and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Reduce downtime by training and guiding production workers on preventive maintenance practices and monitoring compliance.

Fabricate or modify repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.

Maintain spare parts inventory by monitoring stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipts.

Conserve resources by properly using tools, equipment, and supplies.

Provide technical maintenance information and support to production teams.

Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Stay up to date on technical knowledge through workshops, training, and industry publications.

Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to ensure team continuity.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Assist with Health and Safety programs and food safety audits.

Contribute to overall team success by performing other duties as assigned.

Strong background in equipment maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.

Technical knowledge and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.

Electrical and fabrication experience preferred.

PLC troubleshooting or programming experience is a plus.

Proficiency with conveyors, compressed air systems, and related machinery.

Skilled in the use of power tools and machine shop equipment.
