Compensation: $24.00 – $35.00/HR
Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday – Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM (Mandatory Overtime May Apply) – Flexible
Position Summary
The Machine Operator II is responsible for translating sheet metal design specifications into machine-readable instructions using CAD/CAM software and operating fabrication machinery. This role plays a key part in programming and operating machines such as S4 and P4 to produce high-quality parts used in the assembly of APG cash drawers. The ideal candidate ensures production accuracy, safety, and timely completion of jobs in accordance with customer and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate sheet metal designs into machine-readable instructions using CAD/CAM software.
- Automate programming processes to streamline machine operation and improve efficiency.
- Set up, operate, and monitor fabrication machines, including S4, P4, and other press or punch machines.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure fabricated parts meet specifications and standards.
- Maintain clean and organized equipment and work areas in accordance with safety protocols.
- Maximize machine utilization while meeting production deadlines and shift goals.
- Support and enforce compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, inspection, or production environment.
- Experience programming with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Prior experience with machine programming and fabrication operations.
- Ability to stand for long periods and consistently lift up to 15 pounds.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using measurement tools such as calipers and rulers.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate and support colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience programming Trumpf machines or similar equipment.
- Familiarity with automated machine programming and digital inspection tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing materials, tooling setups, and machine capabilities.
Work Environment
This position involves working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, machinery, and metal fabrication equipment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided.
