Position Summary
The Paint Line Staging Technician plays a vital role in the production process by preparing and staging materials or products for painting. This position is responsible for safely hanging and securely fastening parts to hooks, hangers, or conveyor systems, ensuring proper alignment for effective paint coverage. The technician is expected to meet production efficiencies while upholding safety, quality, and operational standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely hang and stage parts onto paint line hooks or hangers according to specifications.
- Maintain run and setup efficiencies of 90% or greater with minimal supervision.
- Visually inspect materials for defects, damage, or improper handling before and after staging.
- Ensure proper alignment and spacing of parts to facilitate optimal paint application.
- Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping of equipment and work area.
- Maximize utilization of available equipment and adhere to daily production schedules.
- Operate powered pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to stand and walk continuously for the duration of a full shift.
- Capable of lifting and handling materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working in a moderately loud and hot environment.
- Proficient in reading, understanding, and adjusting equipment settings as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and quality standards.
- Good communication skills; able to speak, read, and understand English.
- Strong coordination and physical agility in handling materials and operating equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, painting, warehouse, inspection, or production environment.
- Prior experience in staging or materials handling preferred.
Work Environment
This position requires working in a manufacturing or industrial setting with exposure to paint fumes, elevated temperatures, and moderate noise levels. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required.
