Job Requirements

• Attention to detail
• Basic math
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to identify problems
• Able to multi-task
• Ability to read ruler/tape measure
• Receive direction from Slitter Operator on how to stage coils to be processed for maximum efficiency. 
• Assist in building set-ups by placing spacers and knives onto the tension arm at specified widths for the steel coils to be cut to the customer’s specifications. 
• Assist in loading and stringing coils on slitter. 
• Tape, mark and remove all finished coils from slitter. 
• Safely drive the forklift through the plant to move coils and skids to designated areas and operate the over-head crane to move coils from the slitter to packaging. 
• Unload scrap winder as necessary when it becomes full. 
• Use precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers and calipers. 
• Keep a clean and safe work environment throughout the day
• Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
• Adhere to all handbook policies and procedures.
