JOB DESCRIPTION: Painter lead that understand the variety of surface coatings and paint compatibilities, required PPE and painting equipment, prepare and paint helicopters and helicopter parts in accordance with manufacturing procedures and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA and able to lead and coach a group of individuals to meet daily goals ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & COMPETENCIES: Ability to measure and mix paint and primer components per manufacturer specifications. Surface preparation practices such as composite filling, corrosion removal, sanding, masking, painting, and polishing of helicopters and helicopter parts. Ability to identify and correct imperfections in paint such as adhesion and lifting, blushing, sags, runs, drips, orange peel, solvent pops, pinholes, fisheyes, sanding scratches, wrinkling, and dry spray. Operation of spraying equipment including but not limited to spray booths, compressors, spray guns (HLVP), and mixing equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerances. Basic mathematic skills include but are not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for calculating material fabrication. Full compliance with the Company’s DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program. Regular and predictable attendance.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Painter Lead who understands a variety of surface coatings, paint compatibilities, required PPE, and painting equipment. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing and painting helicopters and helicopter parts in accordance with manufacturing procedures and FAA-approved standards. Additionally, this role requires the ability to lead and coach a group of individuals to meet daily goals efficiently.
Essential Functions & Competencies:

Measure and mix paint and primer components per manufacturer specifications.

Perform surface preparation, including composite filling, corrosion removal, sanding, masking, painting, and polishing of helicopters and helicopter parts.

Identify and correct paint imperfections such as adhesion issues, lifting, blushing, sags, runs, drips, orange peel, solvent pops, pinholes, fisheyes, sanding scratches, wrinkling, and dry spray.

Operate spraying equipment, including spray booths, compressors, spray guns (HVLP), and mixing equipment.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerances.

Apply basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra, to calculate material fabrication.

Comply fully with the company’s DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Prior experience in aerospace painting or a related field.
