About the Role
Juvent is seeking a skilled and dependable Surface Mount Technician (SMT) Line Operator – Level 2 to support the advanced operation, setup, and troubleshooting of SMT production equipment. This role is ideal for someone with proven SMT experience, strong electrical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As a Level 2 Operator, you’ll perform full machine setups, assist with changeovers, quickly diagnose issues, and help keep production flowing efficiently. You’ll also mentor Level 1 Operators and contribute to a culture of quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently operate stencil printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens
- Perform complete machine setups and product changeovers
- Verify feeder setup, component orientation, and program accuracy
- Optimize machine performance to improve uptime and throughput
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on SMT equipment
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, basic electrical test equipment)
- Perform first-article verification and support process control initiatives
- Interpret inspection data (AOI, SPI where applicable)
- Train and mentor Level 1 Operators
- Communicate production updates clearly with supervisors
- Follow all ESD, quality, and safety procedures
