Receiving Clerk
Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
$17.50 per hour
Summary
We are seeking a Receiving Clerk to support incoming material and inventory operations in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production needs.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with inventory systems, material handling equipment, and warehouse processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring materials are properly received, stored, tracked, and delivered throughout the facility.
Job Responsibilities
• Count, sort, and weigh incoming shipments to verify accuracy
• Inspect materials and inventory to ensure conformance to specifications
• Store materials in designated bins, shelves, racks, or floor locations
• Mark identifying codes, figures, and labels on inventory items
• Distribute materials and supplies to production employees as needed
• Maintain records of materials issued to production
• Cut stock materials to required sizes for shortages or inspection needs
• Move and transport materials, supplies, and paperwork between departments
• Handle all materials carefully to prevent damage and ensure safety
• Use computer systems to access inventory, purchase orders, work orders, lot numbers, and shortage information
• Participate in quality improvement and quality circle activities
• Follow all company procedures and work instructions
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
• Perform duties with a strong focus on inventory accuracy
• Conduct basic maintenance on electric and gas-powered material handling equipment
• Move company-owned vehicles into protected areas at the beginning and end of shifts as required
Job Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required
• Shipping and receiving experience preferred
• Warehouse, stockroom, or receiving experience in a manufacturing environment is acceptable
• Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence, and workplace documents
• Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate effectively with coworkers
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Strong problem-solving abilities and common-sense decision-making skills
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently
