Aluminum Welder

Position Summary

The Aluminum Welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding aluminum components used in the construction and repair of boats, barges, and other marine vessels. This position requires proficiency in MIG and TIG welding processes, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to producing high-quality welds that meet marine industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and repair aluminum boat hulls, decks, superstructures, and related marine equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Measure, cut, fit, and align aluminum materials for welding and assembly.
• Inspect welds to ensure structural integrity, quality, and compliance with company and industry standards.
• Operate welding equipment, grinders, cutting tools, and other fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
• Perform finishing work, including grinding, sanding, and polishing welds as required.
• Collaborate with supervisors, fabricators, and other production team members to meet production schedules.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of aluminum welding experience, preferably in marine, shipbuilding, or boat manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in MIG welding of aluminum; TIG welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of welding symbols, measurements, and fabrication techniques.
