Manual TIG Welder (Stainless Steel)
Pay: $24–$26/hour
We are seeking a skilled Manual TIG Welder with experience welding stainless steel components in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel materials ranging from 16-gauge to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Set up, operate, and maintain TIG welding equipment, including torches, shielding gas, and filler materials.
- Fit, align, tack, weld, grind, polish, and finish components to meet quality, sanitary, and customer specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and weld symbols.
- Inspect welds, identify defects, and complete repairs as needed.
- Verify weld integrity and maintain compliance with ASME Section IX welding requirements.
- Identify tubing and fittings according to customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
- Support and provide guidance to less experienced welders when needed.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of TIG welding experience, with a strong focus on stainless steel.
- Knowledge of stainless-steel welding techniques, including back purging and heat control.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Experience with multiple joint configurations (butt, lap, corner, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to qualify under ASME Section IX standards is preferred.
