Job Title: Quality Inspector / Material Handler
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting materials and finished products, ensuring compliance with quality standards, maintaining accurate records, and supporting safe material handling throughout the manufacturing process and using forklift to move materials to and from inspection area
(Forklift Experience Required).
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Authorities
- Perform precision dimensional inspections using measurement tools including:
- 2-point micrometers
- Calipers
- Calibrated taper measurers
- Profilometers
- Tape gauges
- Verify all inspection tools are properly calibrated before use when required.
- Maintain material traceability at all times, including heat numbers, lot numbers, and piece identification.
- Conduct inspections of intermediate and final products.
- Perform dye penetrant inspections and spot grinding to remove defects as needed.
- Complete thorough visual inspections to identify quality issues and product defects.
- Follow written procedures and work instructions closely.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, measurements, and observations.
- Identify, reject, and report non-conforming materials.
- Perform final inspections and approve products for shipment.
- Return products for rework when necessary, perform rework as required, and document rework activities and material loss.
- Operate a forklift and overhead crane to safely move material throughout the facility.
- Clean products for final packaging as directed.
- Package materials for intermediate processing and final shipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Recommend process and safety improvements when identified.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous quality inspection or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to accurately document inspection results.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred (training available if needed).
