Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Surface Preparation: Operates abrasive blasting equipment (blast pots, nozzles) to clean surfaces, removing rust, dirt, and old paint.
• Coating Application: Applies paints and protective coatings (epoxies, urethanes, zincs) using airless and conventional spray guns, brushes, or rollers.
• Equipment Maintenance: Cleans and maintains sandblasting gear, hoses, pumps, spray guns, and tips to ensure proper functionality.
• Quality Control: Inspects surfaces before and after blasting/painting to ensure proper millage and surface profile (e.g., SSPC standards).
• Safety Compliance: Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) such as blasting hoods, respirators, and protective clothing, ensuring a safe work environment.
• Mixing Materials: Mixes multi-part paints and coatings to specified ratios and consistencies.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year relevant experience
• Attention to detail
• Able to use basic hand and power tools
• Basic Math
• Mechanical aptitude
• Able to read blueprints/drawings
• Hand eye coordination and dexterity
• Basic computer skills
