Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment and systems within the wastewater treatment plant and pump stations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions

Monitor the performance of all equipment, gauges, and charts in the treatment plant and pump stations; replace equipment as needed.

Operate, maintain, and repair equipment malfunctions at the wastewater treatment plant.

Maintain, modify, and repair instrumentation and control equipment, including recorders, flow meters, and other water quality monitoring devices.

Calibrate, clean, and ensure proper function of pH and ORP probes and controllers.

Operate and maintain lift (or rise) pump stations.

Clean wet wells and operate pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment processes.

Set up hazardous waste cubic-yard storage containers with proper labeling.

Operate sludge pumps and filter presses.

Collect, segregate, and transport hazardous waste from generation points to the hazardous waste storage area.

Label and sign appropriate hazardous and chemical reactants.

Inspect facilities where hazardous waste is generated, stored, or handled to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
