Company Overview: A leading aerospace manufacturer is seeking a skilled and motivated Painter Helper to support helicopter and helicopter part finishing operations. This role requires hands-on experience with surface coatings, painting equipment, and FAA-compliant procedures. The ideal candidate will also have leadership capabilities to coach and guide a team toward meeting daily production goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and paint helicopters and helicopter parts in accordance with manufacturing procedures and FAA-approved data
-
Measure and mix paint and primer components per manufacturer specifications
-
Perform surface preparation including composite filling, corrosion removal, sanding, masking, painting, and polishing
-
Identify and correct paint imperfections such as runs, sags, orange peel, solvent pops, pinholes, and more
-
Operate spraying equipment including spray booths, compressors, HLVP spray guns, and mixing tools
-
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerances
-
Apply basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, algebra) for material calculations
-
Maintain full compliance with the company’s DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program
-
Ensure regular and predictable attendance
-
Lead and coach a group of individuals to meet daily production goals
-
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Experience with a variety of surface coatings and paint compatibilities
-
Knowledge of required PPE and painting equipment
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment
-
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
-
Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
-
Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screening per DOT regulations
-
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
