Manufacturing company in Valencia seeking an experienced HR Safety Coordinator
Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm
Monday – Friday
Summary/Objective: Human Resources / Safety Coordinator assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources and safety functions and duties. This role carries out responsibilities in some or all the following functional areas: benefits, training, employee relations, and development, executive administration, and employment.
Human Resources
Administration of new hires paperwork, orientation, and training.
- Assists with job postings, updating job descriptions and coordinating interviews as required.
- Assists employees with reporting work related injuries and communicates with clinic for updates and provides injury updates to management.
- Processes all change of employment status as required, including those related to terminations.
- Processes all required paperwork for Leave of Absences and communicates to employees their rights to leave with the assistance of the HR Director.
- Responsible for maintaining and collecting insurance dues from employees while on leave.
- Processes personnel requisitions as required for new positions or fill-ins.
- Performs clerical duties as required, such as filing, distribution of memorandum & flyer.
- Assist with translating memos, forms, and other correspondence from English to Spanish.
- Assists with the coordination of employee events such as luncheons, Employee Appreciation Day, and Birthday’s celebrations.
- Takes pictures during company events to be shown on television in lunchrooms and may coordinate departmental pictures for annual company calendar.
- Assist with creating custom flyers or signs for employees’ events when needed.
- Orders name plates for cubicle.
- Update and post Employee Monthly Directory.
- Assists at Saturday’s Drum Circles.
- Assist with annual open enrollment of medical, dental, vision and Aflac benefits.
- Answers phone and communicate employees’ absences to management.
- Assist with distribution of holiday gift cards.
- Processes outgoing mail (when needed).
- Serves as back-up to HR Administrator and Payroll during absences.
- Must willing and able to stay current on State and Federal Employment Laws.
Safety
- Responsible for maintaining Safety Data Sheets updated to meet Globally Harmonized System Standards and ensures all binders in the factory are updated. Coordinate with Edgar Reynozo.
- Assists with coordination of Pulmonary Function Testing and Audio Testing.
- Communicates PFT and Audio testing results to employees and management and maintains log of all testing and results for compliance.
- Assists with updating OSHA training logs for required programs (Annual Hearing, PFT, Forklift Certifications, First Aid and CPR etc.)
- Filing training documentation and test results in training binders for easy audit.
- Assist during our annual employee safety training (English & Spanish)
- Processes all reimbursements for personnel protective equipment through accounts payable and maintains logs for proper record keeping.
- Takes safety meeting minutes for Safety Manager to distribute to Safety Committee.

Requirements:
1. High School diploma preferred
2. 3-5 years experience in Human Resources
3. Excellent Oral an written communication skills and attention to detail
4. Experience working with Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, and Power Point)
5. Bilingual Fluency in English and Spanish (Read and Write)
6. Must be able to work Overtime
