Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 Years optics experience
• Able to use basic hand and power tools
• Basic math
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Ability to identify problems
• Able to multi-task
• Attention to detail
• Able to read ruler/tape measure
• Basic computer skills

Job Responsibilities

• Performs basic shaping process steps on medium difficult parts. 
• Beveling – capable of fabricating polished, double, and off-angle asymmetric bevels
• Blocking – pitch button, Norland transfer, steep singles, cold blocking, contacting, and alignment
• Grinding – Steep radius, cylinder, tight wedge, continuous
• Polishing – spindle, CP, double side, CNC polish
• Slurry Maintenance – maintains and measures established Baume and PH levels
• Pour pitch lap, cuts, and grooves lap
• Advanced print reading skills – can read and comprehend all fabrication specs
• Measurement skills include – Basic Zygo, understanding of fringe pattern, microscope, stereoscope, surface quality inspection, fiber light
• Performs other duties as assigned
