    Performs product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs. Performs packaging line and manufacturing inspections, and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials. Ensures raw materials, in-process and finished products meet company standards. May apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated. May assess draft and final label copy, using knowledge of labeling regulations. Minimizes down time by reducing production rework and recalls.

  • Product Operations Manager

    Location: Milpitas, CA Base Pay: 118.00 - 199.00

    We have a direct hire opening for a Product Operations Manager in Milpitas with a company specializing in protocol analyzers that are used to test and verify electronics that connect through a range of communication protocols such as USB, Bluetooth, ethernet, etc.

    The Product Operations Manager will coordinate activities between the engineering and production departments and transition new product introduction items from development to the manufacturing phase.   

    Pay and Schedule Information:

    • Salary: $118k - $199k/annually
    • This is a 1st shift position

    Job Duties of the Product Operations Manager:

    • They design protocol analyzer products in-house, the PCBs and other components are supplied by different vendors, they test/assemble/manufacture at the facility, and for the final assembly the products are shipped to contract manufacturers
    • Be a liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing as part of NPI to transition items from development to the manufacturing stage
    • Plan production to ensure they have the right work instructions, resources, materials, equipment, etc. to ensure the NPI items are manufactured efficiently and on time
    • For the electronic test equipment they make for NPI, help create test procedures, prepare documentation, and develop a release to manufacturing plan
    • To ensure they have the right supplies/materials on hand for production, monitor inventory levels to they meet the demand plan for the NPI projects
    • Resolve issues which cause production delays, including inventory shortages, safety, bottlenecks, etc.
    • Optimize their operations, equipment, inventory management, supply chain, space requirements, etc. for various design projects
    • Communicate supply schedules, priorities, and status to multiple internal supply teams and external stakeholders
    • Assist Sr. Director of Operations in maintaining dashboards and recurring reports including updating weekly metrics, KPIs, and deliverables
    • Develop metrics to drive continuous improvement of the manufacturing process
    • Monitor daily throughput and address any shortfalls to daily production plan
    • Collaborate with the purchasing and inventory departments regarding issues with vendors such as quality, parts issues, etc. with the
    • Spend time on the production floor to gain a deeper understanding of the processes and be familiar with the products

    Duties and responsibilities
    • Reads production schedules and operations manuals and receives verbal instructions regarding sequential start up and operation of wave-soldering machine or system.
    • Moves controls to activate machine or equipment, such as preheater, lead wire cutter, wave-soldering units, and conveyors.
    • Adjusts controls of machines to regulate operating speed and temperature and height of flux, wax, and solder waves.
    • Verifies specific gravity of flux, using hydrometer.
    • Adjusts dimensions of conveyor pallets and rails used to hold and transport PCB's through wave-soldering process, using precision instruments and hand tools.
    • Places loaded master pallet and production pallets on conveyor line of wave soldering machine or system and monitors pallets moving through process to verify that timing, temperatures, and dimensions are set according to standards.
    • Observes heat-sensitive color marks or strips placed on PCB's to verify boards have been preheated to specified temperatures.
    • Observes meters, gauges, and indicator lights to ensure that soldering of PCB's conforms to processing standards.
    • Examines samples of soldered boards to detect substandard soldering.
    • Discusses quality of soldering with supervisor and adjusts controls according to instructions.
    • Cleans parts and interiors of machines and replenishes fluids in machines and equipment.
    • May return substandard boards to workers for repair.
    • May feed or off bear boards or pallets to or from conveyor system.
