  • Maintenance Technician

    Location: Portage, MI Base Pay: Based

    Maintenance Technician's are needed at client of ours, located in the Kalamzoo, MI area. This a 2nd or 3rd shift Direct Hire opportunity, with hourly salary ranging between $30-$35 hourly. Job duties consist of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of various industrial machines and process equipment.

    Maintenance Technician duties include:

    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair various equipment electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical issues with minimum assistance in a timely manner.
    • Formal training on PLC’s and/or computer operated control systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to utilize a laptop or other interface device for trouble shooting PLC or computer control systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to read and interrupt hydraulic and pneumatic drawings as well as the function of the circuits.
    • Complete scheduled, non-scheduled and emergency repair tasks in a timely manner.
    • Submit work request for issues requiring repairs or follow up.
    • Complete work request documentation on a daily bases including labor and parts used.
    • Identifying parts required for repairs and work with purchasing agent to procure the parts.
    • Follow up on open work orders requiring parts to complete repairs. 
    • Assist in the planning activities such as daily work list, estimating time required for a task, preventative maintenance task or procedures.
    • Provide positive attitude while interacting with personnel plant wide.
    • Provide training and guidance to Maintenance B level II, Maintenance C level I and other personnel to further their growth.
    • Assist operations by explaining operational errors that cause unnecessary downtime.
    • Notify department shift supervisor when repairs have been completed and equipment is ready for production.
    • Capable of efficiently working with little to no supervision.
    • All other work activities as directed by the Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.

  • CNC Machine Repair Technician

    CNC Machine Repairer duties include:

    • Ensures operation of CNC machines (Heller & Chiron) and mechanical equipment by repairing, creating, maintaining, performing and ensure recording of preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, fixtures and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, PLC Controllers, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
    • Inspects and locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
    • Troubleshoot and repair or replace defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, forklift, .and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts and reassemble equipment.
    • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
    • Troubleshooting of PLC, Siemans Controllers and electrical systems.
    • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

    Maintenance Controls Electrician's duties include:

    • Provides technical support for controls systems during the introduction of new equipment.

    • Installs and maintains plant floor machine controls.
    • Assists in the development and training of maintenance personnel in the area of controls systems.
    • Ensures compliance with national Electrical Code and OSHA standards.

    • Fits and assembles fixtures, tools and dies. Sets up, runs off, and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same.
    • Repair tooling as required while setup in the production equipment.
    • Will work collectively with any other department in the plant on the build or repair of any machinery.
    • Will work with product designers providing input to manufacturing capability on newly formed products.
