• Operations Manager

  Location: Everett, WA Base Pay: 90.00 - 130.00

  We have a direct hire opening for an Operations Manager in Everett with a company that makes soup, sauce, and broth products for restaurants and retail stores across the country. This is a 1^st shift position!  

  The Operations Manager will create and implement policies that continuously improve processes, minimize risk, increase productivity, and ensure consistency in their operations.

  Pay and Schedule Information:

  • Compensation: $90,000 - $130,000/annually (DOE)
  • Target Bonus: 15% of annual salary

  Job Duties of the Operations Manager:

  • Supervise and coordinate with all departments to maintain product flow with maximum efficiency and minimum loss
  • Manage all departments with up to 90 direct reports across 3 shifts
  • Responsible for the department’s performance in accordance with business objectives for manufacturing efficiency, safety, quality, budgets, and capital project management
  • Responsible for staffing requests, interviewing, promotion/ demotion, and staffing levels of departments
  • Develop budgets and manage line and labor efficiencies, key performance indicators and line finances in support of greater plant and business strategic objectives and goals
  • Ensure all plans and strategies are effectively communicated throughout the department
  • Review, make changes, and approve all departmental scheduling issues
  • Ensure the policies/procedures are in compliance with company specifications and regulatory policies which include Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality, and Food Safety Systems
  • Ensure high standards for safety, quality, and food safety across the production organization
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) culture in all aspects of shift operations and in alignment with the overall plant CI culture
  • Participation in project work and initiatives as assigned
  • Respond to company and customer needs with expert quality, timeliness, and customer services that contribute to successful outcomes
  • Conduct scheduled meetings (department, safety)
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Maintenance, Food Safety & Quality, Human Resources, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution

  Responsibilities

   

  • Receive raw ingredients and packaging supplies according to specified procurement and quality guidelines
  • Put-away all raw ingredients and packaging supplies to the appropriate storage locations
  • Pick and transfer raw ingredients and packaging supplies from warehouse storage to operation departments as requested
  • Ensure proper rotation of raw ingredients, first expired – first out
  • Return ingredients and packaging supplies back to proper storage locations after usage
  • Transfer finished goods to rack locations and/or shipping dock
  • Pick, following first in – first out, and ship finished goods via shuttles or direct to customer in accordance with all quality and regulatory requirements
  • Effectively complete all of the above-mentioned tasks through an ERP application
  • Maintain cleanliness of warehouse to include dry, frozen, and cooler storage, and all receiving and shipping docks as well as the finished goods cooler
  • Maintain strong working relations with warehouse and operations leads
  • Monitor the accuracy of inventory locations and tags
  • Effectively communicate inventory discrepancies and other issues to lead and manager as appropriate
  • Practice safe forklift operating procedures
  • Maintain food safety practices
  • Monitor for safe load capacity on storage racks
  • Monitor safe storage procedures to eliminate workplace hazards

  Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 2/3 of working time
  • Ability to work in cold environment (Cooler, Freezer)

  Job Environment

  Different climates – Such as dry storage, Cooler, Freezer

  Manufacturing environment—conditions can be wet and cold
