Job Responsibilities:

•Operates and maintains sit-down forklift (double) in a safe and efficient manner using work instructions, visual management and computer interface.

•Ensures all tasks are completed in warehouse.

•Supplies production operations with raw materials to produce finished product.

•Loads finished goods with forklift onto trucks in a timely manner to meet customers delivery requirements.

•Unloads incoming materials from trucks and stores in proper locations.

•Accurately completes all written logs and data input to include closing sequences on tickets and printing Bill of Lading in warehouse.

•Ensures accurate inventory counts and notifies lead/supervisor of discrepancies in the warehouse.

•Removes/Reworks any damaged product on pallets in the warehouse.

•Maintains a clean work area and performs general housekeeping duties

Our client, one of South Carolina's premier Manufacturers, is seeking to hire an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Specialist like you today!

 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: 

This position’s primary job responsibility includes all aspects of the Environmental, Health and Safety programs at the Plant under the direction of the Environmental Health & Safety Specialist Manager. 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste for disposal manifesting and labeling waste materials.
  • Work with manager to update the Emergency Response and Contingency Plan. 
  • Coordinate emergency response activities and be the lead for the Emergency Action Team.
  • Assist management with weekly/monthly meetings, metrics, compliance monitoring and training.
  • Performing or participate in inspections.
  • Coordinate and comply with our Air Emissions, Storm Water, and Waste Water Management programs.
  • Under the direction and guidance of manager, complete reports required by governmental agencies.
  • Conduct Safety Training
  • Maintain all regulatory and non-regulatory required programs and procedures in coordination with manager.
  • Respond to and document all corrective actions arising from near misses, incidents and recordable injuries.  Work with plant to ensure timely closure of open items.
  • Write and modify Standard Operating Procedures, Visual Operating Guides, Job Safety Analysis in conjunction with manager as required.
  • Perform daily, weekly & monthly internal audits, communicate findings, and track corrective actions.
  • Facilitates Safety Meetings at the Management and Plant level. 
  • Safety is every employee’s responsibility. Follow all safety policies and procedures in accordance with policies and local, state, and federal laws.   
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas including equipment, tools, and work surfaces.
  • Use Lean/Six Sigma Methodologies to improve the process.
  • All employees will be required to participate in training and continuous improvement events.
  • Ability to work within a company registered/compliant to National and International Standards and Requirements, and contribute to those standards and requirements. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure plant employees are following policies and procedures.

  • Work in conjunction with manager to implement a progressive Environmental, Health and Safety program designed to provide a safe work environment.
  • Meet plans, goals and targets to sustain and advance programs.
  • Provide training and reports as per schedule, which comply with governmental regulations.
  • Meet all safety, quality, production and on-time metrics. 
  • Be a driving force on all plant initiative projects. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership and communication skills.

 

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES THAT ARE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:

  • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment and multi-task.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and using a personal computer.
  • Ability to respond to incidents to support a 16-20 hour manufacturing operation.
