Responsible for analyzing and identifying solutions for Battery System issues in the production environment, providing technical support to other departments as well as troubleshooting, diagnosis and solving issues with both hardware and software. Maintain quality standards by enforcing quality requirements throughout the life of the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Conducts problem solving activities, drive continuous improvement efforts as related to customer satisfactions and quality improvement, maintaining all aspects ISO/IATF guidelines and handling multiple quality related projects simultaneously.

· Develop and maintain operator work instructions for work conducted on production lines.

· Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.

· Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to asses cost and responsibility.

· Knowledge of all the Quality tools (DOE, SPC, Pareto Charts, Cause & Effect Analysis, etc.) and the deployment of these tools in continuous improvement initiatives.

· Will work closely with internal and external customers to double shoot problems if necessary provide onsite visits to investigate problems

· Coordinates new product introductions

· Issue Quality Problem Notice (QPN) to suppliers on quality issues and coordinating supplier and customer containment activities

· Ability to place suspect material on HOLD and disposition it

· Helps develop root cause and corrective actions internally and customer problems and provides updates to customers in a timely manner.

· Understanding of the PPAP and APQP process.

· Responsible for providing monthly report to Quality Manager, which includes supplier receipts, supplier PPM, customer shipped quantities and supplier and customer issues.

· Responsible for providing monthly scrap information by compiling information from rejects in the quarantine area.

· Oversee, update EOL software if needed, and perform all testing (including Leak Testing) of automotive battery packs (Siemetric; AVL & Helium)

· Review test data to determine proper functioning of pack set

· Diagnose and troubleshoot pack wiring, electronics modules, and test station including End of Line test and determine what is going wrong. Document system faults in R drive.

· Provide physical assistance in regressing pack assembly, as required including off line.

· Interface with customers and suppliers to receive assistance in troubleshooting issues found at Piston or to understand and assist in issues found by customers battery pack serial numbers or parts.

· Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

· Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, battery performance test, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.

· Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.

· Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.

· Assist in troubleshooting and coordination with maintenance or engineering with system failures occur within the AVL and Siemetric test stations.

· Document proper repair procedures as they are identified or developed. Create documents for fault systems analysis.

· Flexibility in supporting Redford Plant as needed.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
