Production Control Coordinator

How You’ll Make an Impact 

As a Production Control Coordinator you will have the responsibility of planning, scheduling, tracking and expediting product through the Order Fulfillment cycle.  The Production Control Coordinator’s responsibility begins with the receipt of the customer purchase order or contract, through the manufacturing cycle, shipment, and/or stock.  This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining inventory levels in support of company policy and objectives.  This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager.  

 

What you’ll be doing as a Production Control Coordinator:

  • Contract Review
    • Reviews and validates delivery dates; identifies options, informs management and takes appropriate action if delivery dates cannot be achieved.
    • Reviews and prepares planning; gains approval for planning as required.
    • Pulls approved planning template to job; releases jobs per schedule requirements.
  • Production Scheduling
    • Creates and manages production schedules.
    • Reviews dispatch reports on a periodic basis; identifies options, reports concerns to management and takes appropriate action.
  • Backlog Management
    • Prepares rolling 3-month shipment analysis and reports to management monthly, or as requested by management.
    • Tracks daily, weekly and monthly shipping performance against the rolling 3-month plan; makes recommendations, reports concerns to management and takes appropriate action.
  • Outside Processing Management
    • Monitors OSP deliveries and receipts in support of production schedules.
    • Obtains quotes for price and delivery.
  • Inventory Management
    • Sets minimum and maximum inventory levels in support of company policy and objectives.
    • Calculates EOQ’s and establishes job lot sizes accordingly.
    • Purchases materials to support EOQ, schedule and inventory level objectives.
    • Obtains quotes for price and delivery for raw materials and hardware.
    • Monitors Manufacturing Schedule Performance.  Tracks late job operations; identifies options, reports to management and takes appropriate action.
    • Reviews machine loading on a periodic basis.  Identifies opportunities and concerns, reports to management and takes appropriate action.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of MRP systems and related processes.
  • Technical understanding and ability to read industry blueprints and specifications.
  • General knowledge of machining concepts and methods.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • B.S. in business or engineering or equivalent combination of work experience, education and certification.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

As an Aerospace Assembly Technician, you will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations. You will work from diagrams and drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools. You will make continuity checks on work in process and completed. You may conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications. Additionally, Assembly Technicians will disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.

 

What you’ll be doing as an Assembly Tech I:

  • Using hand and power tools, assemble a variety of parts, sub-assemblies, or complete units to specified tolerances.
  • Inserting Heli coils.
  • Inserting bushings, bearings, and pins using Arbor press
  • Touch up paint, apply epoxy coatings and sealants.
  • Marking parts with engravers, vibro-peen, chem-etch, or laser.
  • Production testing using hydraulic and other test methods.
  • Follow written instructions, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
  • Ensure proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning (including correct quantities) and paperless timecard system.
  • Completes all daily record keeping, part count and part traceability with consistent accuracy.
  • Adheres to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and laws determined by the company, state, and federal authorities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Available to work a full-time position with pre-determined shift times. 
  • Comfortable working a temp-to-hire position. 
  • Team player with a can-do attitude. 
  • Mechanically inclined, with good manual dexterity.
  • Communicates well verbally and in writing.
  • Strong skills and aptitude in shop mathematics.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Have working knowledge of hand tools, arbor and hydraulic presses, torque wrench, engravers, vibropeen, etc.
  • Experience inserting Heli coils using manual and pneumatic tools.
  • Experience with inspection tools (calipers, Micrometers, pin gages) and inspecting to blueprint.
  • Understanding and ability to follow work instructions and test procedures.
  • Understanding of assembly skills, including installation processes, tool uses, set up techniques, etc. 
  • Experience with Mechanical Assembly
  • Has performed production testing using Hydraulic test benches.

• Review documentation for completeness and accuracy. Ensure that documents are properly submitted for scanning into network folders. May perform scanning of documents.

• Process and move parts per disposition instructions.

• Work with Production, Stockroom, and Finance department personnel to maintain accurate data transactions within the ERP system.

• May assist manufacturing engineering with documentation of rework.

• May perform basic visual inspection and measurement of product.

• Perform other job related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrate understanding of quality systems.

Education: Requires technical training courses in a related field or the equivalent in prior work experience.

Responsible for maintaining all equipment in all areas of the plant, and covering all emergency break downs and repairs in a timely manner. Possess basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, and basic welding and fabricating skills. Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including lubrication, filter inspection and replacement, oil changes, motor and pump replacements, plumbing, painting, cleaning, and any other mechanical and electrical task as assigned. Possess adequate computer skills to use SAP to generate work orders, track labor, and consume materials. Maintain high safety standards.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Possess the skill and ability to perform all basic mechanical and electrical duties required.

 

  1. Cover all emergency break downs and repairs in a timely manner.

 

  1. Make shift rounds at a minimum of twice per shift to inspect Air Compressors, Chillers, Compressors, Water Pumps, Storage Silos, Material Transfer Systems, Extrusion Equipment; Air, Water, and Electrical Systems and other Operation-Critical Equipment to insure functionality to required operational standards. Report problems with equipment, leaks, and other deficiencies and take action as needed.

 

  1. Perform preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with the Preventative Maintenance Program.

 

  1. Ability to properly assess operational state of equipment, filters, oil, hydraulics, compressors, motors, pumps, plumbing and electrical systems and determine course of action if needed.

  • Set-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, stock and pushers
  • Operating vertical mills, surface & OD grinders, boring mills, engine lathes, saws and drill presses 

Requirements: 

  • Preferred – bring own small tools and tool box
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Work individually and in a team environment
  • Understand basic setups and working in a fast paced environment
  • Blueprint, schematic reading and GD&T
  • Mechanical knowledge, electrical wiring, hydraulics and pneumatics

SUMMARYResponsible for all aspects of quality to maintain quality standards set by the Company.  This person is responsible for all Quality Assurance testing of finished product in accordance with North American Pipe’s standard procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Performs a variety of physical testing of product, including but not limited to; rubber ring testing, impact, quick burst, flattening, brabender, long term testing and all other required QA testing

 

  1. Completes paperwork and reports as needed.

 

  1. Uses a variety of tools and instruments to assess and inspect product.

 

  1. Checks the quality of finished goods, including those loaded for delivery, and returned goods for acceptance to stock.

 

  1. Reviews stocked pipe periodically and identifies damaged product to be removed from inventory.

 

  1. Must maintain area to be clean and free from safety hazards.

 

Other duties may be assigned to assist in daily plant operations

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED.  Three years’ experience or training/education in production and/or quality control.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to sit or smell.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
