CNC Set-Up Operator – Aerospace Industry
Pay: $23.00–$26.00 per hour Shifts Available: 1st and 2nd Shift
Job Description
An established aerospace company is seeking experienced CNC Set-Up Operators to join our team. We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented candidates who can support both production and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities

Set up CNC equipment from start to finish to produce First Article parts

Run production by loading and unloading parts into machines

Ensure production output meets or exceeds required volume

Measure finished work pieces/parts using precision measuring instruments and fixtures to ensure conformance to specifications

Document dimensions on in-process sheets as required

Count and verify raw material blanks before starting production

Work with supervisors or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions, production errors, or to obtain approval to continue production

Assist with machine maintenance and repairs on production and plant support equipment

Verify all related paperwork according to Job Traveler processes
Experience
- 3+ years of CNC machine setup experience (mills, lathes, or multi-axis).
- Ability to perform full setups, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and first-piece inspections.
- Able to read blueprints, GD&T, and make basic program edits.
Skills
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
- Troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
Quality & Safety
- Ability to perform first-article inspections and follow quality procedures.
- Commitment to safety practices and proper PPE usage.
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs and stand for long periods.

- Reliable attendance and communication skills.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts and overtime as needed.
