Job Opening: CNC Machinist
Description
We have a direct hire opening for a CNC Machinist at a shop in Everett that specializes in precision machined aerospace, medical, and commercial parts and assemblies. This is a 2nd shift opening!
- In this role, set up and operate CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate precision parts per engineering specifications without supervision.
- These close tolerance and complex parts are manufactured for avionics, aerospace hydraulics, and medical device items for imaging systems, biopsy instruments, and prosthetics.
- Parts are machined from Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Titanium as well as a wide range of plastics.

Salary and Shift Information:
- Pay: $32-$39/hour
- 2nd Shift: 3:20 pm-1:20 am, Monday-Thursday, with overtime on Friday as requested

Job Duties of the CNC Machinist:
- Understand and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut
- Use tools such as edge finders, indicators, and probes to find machine work offsets
- Run parts that meet engineering specifications without supervision
- Read, understand, and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings independently with your knowledge of GD&T
- Follow instructions on setup sheets without supervision
- Know optimal cutting techniques, speeds, and feeds
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and inform the lead person of discrepancies
- Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using all measuring tools
- Recognize machine deviations versus cutter or holding problems and fix issues before informing the supervisor
- Thoroughly inspect first part run with high complexity
- Meet job standard times without supervision
- Ensure part count and data entry are accurate and correct consistently
- Accurately complete and maintain all paperwork
- Follow all safety guidelines established by the company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures
- Solve complex problems independently, as well as routine problems that occur
- Have a fluent understanding of G&M codes, and be able to edit or program on the shop floor
- Look for ways to reduce cycle times without being asked
- Optimize programs in collaboration with engineering and management
- Create machine tooling to support manufacturing and engineering
Job Requirements of the CNC Machinist:
- 4-5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, using either mills or lathes
- Ability to make edits to CNC programs to correctly produce each part
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings to understand dimensions, tolerances, and specifications of the parts
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T
- Knowledge of optimal cutting techniques, speeds, and feeds
- Experience with ESPRIT CAD and CAM software for CNC programming (preferred)
- Understanding of G&M codes (preferred)
