Job Opening: Cable Assembler

POSITION SUMMARY:

Entry level to highly experienced position that will involve preparing, splicing, and installing miscellaneous components on seismic cables.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
• Measuring and cutting cables to a specified length
• Stripping insulation and preparing wires of electrical termination
• Soldering wires and connectors
• Respooling cables
• Preparing splices for molding
• Mixing and applying various potting metals
• Work inspection
• Prepare cables for shipment
• Perform other related duties as necessary

SKILLS NECESSARY TO PERFORM POSITION DUTIES:
• Must be able to use soldering iron, heat knife, measuring tape and heat gun
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
• Maintain clean work area

TYPICAL EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent
