Description
Job summary Performs general clerical and administrative support as well as data entry tasks in connection with the accounting, and exporting departments, working as part of a team. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. General Ledger Data Entry – Assist in data entry to G/L and generation of financial reports as well as accurate closing of the books. Organization of all G/L files including filing, scanning and binding. 2. Accounts Payable – Organizes documents, processes invoices for payment and posts transactions to journals, ledgers and other records. Reviews invoices for accuracy and completeness. Performs basic clerical duties associated with accounts payable 3. Shipping Control – Accurately pick and schedule export shipments strictly following established shipping control guidelines. Scanning and cataloging of large volumes of documents may be required. 4. Exporting – Prepare documents for forwarder to transport goods by air and ocean. Documents include invoices, packing lists, credit memos, ship letters, export declarations, DG certificates, and other documents required by U.S. Customs and receiving party. 5. Export Licensing/Compliance – Assist in preparing export license applications for submission and approval by U.S. Government entities. This includes collecting background documentation and identification of classification in compliance with ITAR. Job Dimensions: Some College Accounting/Financial Units preferred. Position requires general understanding of bookkeeping procedures and 1 to 2 years of relevant experience. Experience with U.S. GAAP, monthly closing procedures and financial reporting required. Experience with ITAR and export compliance in aerospace industry is preferred. Position may require lifting of boxes of up to 30 lbs.
