Experienced Test Technician Job Opportunity

1st Shift - 8am-4:30pm

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

This person will have responsibility for testing  products in the Product Research Center (PRC).  In addition to test responsibility, the successful candidate will design, assemble, troubleshoot products and equipment.

Specific Test Technician responsibilities include at least:

• Communication with Engineering when necessary to thoroughly understand test requests
• Data-driven troubleshooting of test equipment and basic test unit malfunctions
• Maintaining and/or improving all test equipment.
• Monitoring and calibrating test equipment to ensure that all processes are operating correctly
• Managing multiple assignments simultaneously and to timely completion
• Setting up tests using test hardware.
• Documenting test results in a structured and intuitive format, generally using Excel
• Effectively training other employees so they can independently start and monitor tests
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times
• Providing feedback on potential test procedure problems and/or improvements

Job Duties:

• Someone that worked on an assembly job or line and /or did quality monitoring/product testing on an assembly line etc.
• Must speak and understand English
• Someone that pays attention to detail
• Someone with good problem solving skills
• Work efficiently in a team environment
• Can stand and work at a bench 8 hours a day with normal breaks
• Can lift and move around heavy objects up to 30lb
• Know how to operate power tools safely
• Distribute work to other test technicians and manage tests
• Can work with wrenches, screwdrivers, measuring tapes, packaging etc
• Knowledge of and experience with plumbing is a plus
• Have some knowledge with Microsoft Excel and creating test reports
• Test experience is a plus
• Has good memory, is a quick  learner, and retains information well and can apply it without supervision
• Can work with limited supervision with normal instructions
• Has the ability to focus and concentrate for long periods of time and keep track of task progress while maintaining the highest level of quality and accuracy
• Extrusion and coiling experience a plus

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• One year experience at hands-on testing
• Minimum associates degree in an engineering science
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Basic understanding of engineering concepts, drawings and schematics (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic)
• Working knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team, under pressure in a fast paced environment

DESIRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4 years + testing experience with irrigation or similar product
