Description

We are looking for a CMM Supervisor for our manufacturing client in Eaton Rapids, MI. This is for a direct hire role on off shift.

Duties of a CMM Supervisor:

  • Supervise the CMM Technicians and Gage Technicians on their daily duties measuring products and calibrating gages.  Participate in hiring process of new Technicians, and on the application of disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Prepare and provide clear summaries of inspection data and plans.  Support data analysis for PPAP, SPC, gage preparation and tool modifications.
  • Analyze and break down dimensional data to identify source of problems (Process, Tooling, Supplier part, etc.)
  • Identify metrology department equipment needs.  Develop and maintain equipment upgrades, replacement plans, PM schedules and calibrations. 
  • Ensure accurate and precise communication of results and targets to shop floor teams, peers, and management team. Contribute with information to complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to all interested parties such as management team, corporate office, and external stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain training matrix for the team, including training plans for identified improvement areas.  Train team members in quality systems and procedures. Encouraging use and understanding of the quality tools and systems in production including SPC, CA, QRQC, etc.
  • Must be able to perform CMM and Gage Technician duties as necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Associate degree in a related field, Military certification, or other equivalent military certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of service in the metrology/instrumentation field. Bachelors’ (or higher) degree in an engineering discipline or Technical College diploma (CET or similar)
  • Supervision experience 
  • Knowledge of die casting processes (or similar i.e. injection molding, stamping, etc.)  Quality Engineering designation ASQ CQE, CQM or equivalent
  • Excellent understanding of GD&T and ability to create datum strategies that minimize tolerance stack-up in critical areas
  • Able to develop complex CMM programs
  • Microsoft Office Professional with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in the use of an ERP system (e.g. Plex, SAP, Oracle).
  • Good presentation and customer service skills.
  • Time/priority management skills to meet or exceed targets for launch activities and managing multiple projects.
  • Problem solving and analysis.
  • Project management to be on time and within budget.
  • Sound Health, Safety and Environmental knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive quality systems and standards.
  • Continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Strong team ethic.
  • Fluency in English.
