MIG Welder Job Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine product or job instructions or specifications.
  • Use basic hand tools: grinders, sanders, chipping hammer, etc.
    Ability to read and use a tape measure.
  • Ability to prioritize work flow to meet daily production goals.
  • Clean, lubricate, maintain, and adjust equipment to maintain efficient operation, using air hoses, cleaning fluids, and hand tools.
  • Grinds seam welds for smoothness, ensuring no cracks bleed through, to ensure work piece meets quality standards
  • Compute and record settings for new work, applying knowledge of metal properties, principle of welding and shop mathematics.
  • Conduct trial runs before welding, soldering, or brazing and make necessary adjustments to equipment.
  • Perform daily maintenance on machines, and stocks inventory cabinets for work supplies.
  • Design application for new products.
  • Follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Wear PPE as necessary.
  • Do work assigned by supervisor.
  • Work in team environment, be quality conscious and strive for continuous quality improvement with emphasis on Lean and 5s principles.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years of MIG welding, brazing, and soldering experience meeting superior aesthetic, cosmetic, and high quality standards.
  • Trade School training or MIG Certification preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to use basic hand and power tools
  • Basic Math
  • Able to read blueprints / drawings
