MATERIAL HANDLER/WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATES

Rainbird distribution warehouse in Steele, AL is looking for an energetic Associates with a go get 'em attitude! Associate will be working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Associate will be packing/repacking orders and getting them ready for shipment. Come and work for a clean and team orientated warehouse!  Experience is helpful, but we will train!

 IMMEDIATE Assignments Available

2nd Shift- Sun-Thur. 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm                $16.00 per hr.

3rd Shift- Sun- Thur. 11:30 pm  -7:30 am               $16.50 per hr.

 

  • Must be able to understand and communicate with all employees to receive training instruction and perform responsibilities.
  • Must learn to follow quality control specs and procedures. 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Must comply with safety regulations for the protection of self and fellow workers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Work with the line team to meet the daily production.
  • Free online education with Foster Penn College
  • Lifting up to 30lbs
  • Good physical condition, able to lift up to 35 lbs. safely
  • Good hand-eye coordination and good motor skills

Job Requirements for Material Handlers  

  • Loading and unloading shipments
  • Inbound processing
  • Scanning and shelving of parts
  • Pulling orders
  • Data entry into computerized inventory control system
  • Read and count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly
  • Stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours)
  • Dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out simple instructions from oral instructions or written direction                                                                                                                                                 
  • Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
  • Labeling every product and placing them accordingly
  • Identifying and locating the right products to be shipped
  • Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting
  • Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
  • Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Locates and packs materials for shipping.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
  • Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks.
  • Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
  • Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.
