The Printer/Coater Operator is responsible for the set-up, and operation of the Printer and/or Coater Machines to make top quality coated décor paper for the moldings operation.
Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.
• Operate Printer/Coater equipment and assist as directed.
• Understands and complies with position related safety SOP’s and work instructions, especially for Lockout/Tagout, Chemical Handling, Machine Guarding, Housekeeping, and Personal Protective Equipment.
• Analyze types of mechanical or operational troubles; plan for and take corrective action to maintain quality and equipment performance.
• Make changeovers or conversions by setting up assigned equipment for change in material, size or product.
• Check, test and measure product for quality specifications. Examine for visual defects.
• Operate, repair, clean, lubricate equipment as required to maintain production.
• Examine, test and measure product from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using appropriate gauges and instruments and record date.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance inspection of assigned equipment, report findings and take appropriate action. Perform maintenance work orders as required.
• Notify supervisor of any incidences of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken and of any poor quality material or supplies noted.
