 Machinist/Scientific Instrument Maker

Location: Houston, TX 77005 (Medical Center Area) 

Pay range: $26-$32 - DOE

Private University in Houston Texas seeking to hire a Manual Machinist for R&D type work to support their Research Support Team.  Temp to hire position.  This position will be working closely with graduate students and faculty to produce scientific instrument parts for research. 

• Manual Machinist with mill and lathe experience
• Experience with plastic, aluminum and stainless steel
• Able to manufacture small parts/job shop
• Hurco CNC milling machine is a plus/not necessary
• Mastercam a plus
• Bridgeport milling machines
• Hardinge HLV precision lathes
• LeBlond lathes
• Vertical saw
• Horizontal cutoff saw
• Tool grinders
• Belt sander
• Hydraulic press
• Vocational training is preferred
• Shift: 8:30 AM - 5 PM Mon-Thur & 7:30 AM - 4 PM Fri

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of experience
• Mill and lathe experience
• Able to perform simple geometry equation/shop math
• Saw experience
• Must have own tools
