Job Information

We are looking for a Furnace Operator for one of our Heat Treat Manufacturing plants around the Elyria, OH area for a direct hire opportunity.

Duties of a Furnace Operator:

Operate and load furnaces with scrap iron utilizing overhead crane to a specified temperature for processing.
Monitor and regulate temperature controls and heating time.
Identify, measure and add alloys to ladle iron pouring preparation.
Observe and adjust controls to maintain temperature between specified limits.
Communicate with production team regarding proper temperature of iron.
Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure production conformity.
Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance as well as using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
Experience inspecting equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or defects.
Ability to work in and around extreme heat.
Experience operating crane and forklift.
Basic computer skills.
High school diploma or GED.
