Now hiring for a Defense Logistics Operations Specialist!

Payrate: $55,000 - 75,000

Schedule: Monday to Friday (hours will be discussed during interview) 

The Defense Logistics Operations specialist will be responsible for all shipment requirements, quotes, and to make the company a profit with each shipment/contract. 

• Provide excellent customer service 
• Process orders timely and efficiently 
• Perform and manage shipping activities 
• Build relationships with international transportation carriers and agent representatives
• Prepares rates and quotes for customers 
• Invoicing and and billing process. 
• Coordinates pick-ups, drayage companies, shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, clearing agents, warehouses, and all other parties needed in shipping process. 

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or combination of education and experience 
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in defense logistics and/or freight forwarding operations. Or combination of the two 
• Minimum 2 years experience working with government or defense logistics clients 
• ITAR compliance and shipping required 

Qualifications 

• Ability to acquire TSA certification
• Speaking/reading/ writing in English 
• Excellent interpersonal skills 
• Ability to sit and work on a computer for 8+ hours per day 
• Ability to stand/walk for 5+ hours per day 
• Light warehouse work as necessary; lifting, strap, label, examine and accept freight

Computer skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications; such as Word, Excel, Outlook 
• Proficiency with Cargowise preferred
