Largest manufacturer of paperboard and paper-based packaging in Lancaster is hiring for Maintenance Mechanic on 2nd shift. 

 

  • Shift- : (M-Fri) 6 pm – 6 am. 12 hour shifts

  • Pay- 22.00+ DOE 

  • Temp to Hire- 90Days 

 

Job Summary Below:

Preform basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting installations and repairs.  Preforms preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities as assigned.   

 

Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

  • Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
  • Ability to clearly understand customer requirements and deliver result to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting safety requirements and stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner and assures co-workers work in a safe manner. 
  • Performs electrical/mechanical preventative maintenance to assure minimum machine downtown.
  • Performs electrical/mechanical component replacement assuring compliance with work order instructions.
  • Resolves electrical/mechanical emergency breakdowns on equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Performs electrical/mechanical installations as directed.
  • Maintains adequate records of work performed on equipment and corrective action taken.
  • Displays good work habits that will set a good example for co-workers. Continually monitors and maintains work areas to keep them clean and sell organized.
  • Responsible for compliance with all facility safety and quality policies and procedures including product safety and (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area to support AIB/5’s and other company standards.
  • Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Job Requirements

  • Physical Demands
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move in a pushing and pulling motion when helping change loads; frequently required to climb on and off the press platform; continuously required to work above ground on top of the press; frequently required to bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, and twist. Frequently required to use eye, hand and foot coordination when making load change.  Hand coordination is required of both hands for simple grasping.
    • The employee must not be colorblind
    • The employee is frequently required to lift under 10 pounds and between 40-45 pounds.
    • Frequent/strenuous physical effort (lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.) required.
    • Must be able to push, pull, and carry up to 40 pounds.
