A client of ours int he Williamston, MI area is searching for a Level II Machine Builder - Assembler on day shift with a flexible schedule working either 6AM - 2:30PM or 7AM - 3:30PM.

In this role you will contribute to the manufacturing of quality blow molding machines, auxiliary equipment and all sub-assemblies with the use of power and hand tools, precision tools, and any other required tools and/or equipment by performing the following duties.

Duties of a Level II Machine Builder - Assembler:

• Responsible for maintaining compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and Company safety standards.
• Build or manufacture to drawing, bill of material, all items to established production quality and quantity as scheduled.  Proficient use of precision measuring equipment.
• Assist with training of employees when necessary.
• Assist customers/vendors with phone or site consultation when necessary.
• Responsible for maintenance/repair of building/installed equipment or new equipment as assigned.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance and good housekeeping to insure good quality and continuation of safe operation.
• Assist in other departments as temporary assignment.
• Confer with supervisors, engineering, production personnel or others to resolve manufacturing problems.  Report shortages of parts, tools, and materials in a timely manner.
• Operate power equipment and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).
• Develop specifications from general description and draw sketch of part or product to be manufactured.
• Responsible for submitting daily time accounting and payroll information or other paperwork requested.

Job Requirements

• Journeyman machine builder, fifty (50) credits and eight (8) years’ experience job related and/or equivalent of Level II.
• Must have personal hand tools to perform tasks effectively.
• Ability to use mainframe computer.
• Ability to work with metric and inch system.
• Understand and apply hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and detailed drawings. 
• Does machine start up, troubleshooting, and machine checkout. 
• Capable of making hand drawings of components and making parts with use of drill press, and mill. 
• Knowledge of producing jigs or fixtures when needed. 
• Perform all tasks with minimum assistance. 
• Basic welding knowledge and sheet metal fabrication. 
• Building of prototype equipment. 
• Basic electrical knowledge helpful for troubleshooting.
