A client of ours in the Cadillac, MI area is searching for a Quality Engineer with the opportunity for growth and advancement to a Quality Manager / Supervisor role. This role's pay would be experience based.

Duties of a Quality Engineer: 

• Customer point of contact for the assembly group quality.
• Lead 8D investigation and customer response.

• Supervise quality sort, floor auditor, lab personnel (as assigned).
• ISO/TS 16949 Internal Quality System Audit management.
• Responsible for updates and tracking of quality concerns in customer portals.
• Participate in APQP meetings and Design Review activity related to the assembly process as needed.
• Layered Process Audit management.
• Train or coordinate the training of departmental personnel to perform their job responsibilities in a proficient manner.
• Knowledge and practice of the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.
• Monitor hold cage and material disposition for assembly materials.
• Waste reduction team member.
• Data collection for metric reporting.
• Continuous improvement team member.

• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with production, engineering, sales and other plant and office personnel
• Attention to detail and accuracy.  Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of software programs used for plant operations (Mapics, XA “Green Screen”), customer portals, lab testing equipment, and injection molding machines. 
• Must understand general operations in a manufacturing environment.
