A manufacturing client of ours in Grand Rapids, MI is searching for 3rd shift Maintenance Technicians. The pay for this role is experience based. In this role you will provide comprehensive maintenance support of production and various support equipment to minimize machine down-time and optimize productivity.

Duties of a Maintenance Technician: 

  • Respond quickly and efficiently to production downtime situations to maximize machine up-time.
  • Perform preventive Maintenance on assigned equipment, properly documenting maintenance performed and identifying potential items in need of future maintenance.
  • Properly follow spare parts management procedure to identify, inventory and properly store critical spare parts.
  • Perform continuous improvement projects to enhance work cell productivity.
  • Cross-train area Technicians in applicable systems troubleshooting and repair procedures.
  • Perform Daily Check procedures on assigned equipment and fill out appropriate data sheets and logs.
  • Communicate system issues, specific machine issues, work cell down time etc. using communication methods provided.
  • Use I Maintenance documents to record appropriate PM, downtime and spare parts information.
  • Adhere to Safety practices including lockout/Tag-out.  Focus on safety should primarily be the main objective when troubleshooting or working on equipment.  Also report immediately any potential safety issues on work cells pertaining to machine function, operator interface, or work methods.
  • Attend necessary training classes or seminars as directed by the Department Manager.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Department Manager.
  •  Knowledge and practice of Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associates Degree, Journeyman’s Card or minimum 3 years applicable maintenance or automation experience.
  • Experience as required to meet responsibilities with direct supervision.  Must be able to operate manufacturing or machine shop equipment efficiently and safely
  • Must be a self-starter, organized and dedicated, with good record keeping skills.  Must be able to cope with and work efficiently with restrictive time frames and unpredictable situations.
