Manufacturer in Amory, MS seeks staff accountant!

The purpose of this position is to assist in supporting the accounting department including the accurate and timely reporting of the company’s financial performance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as well as assistance with special projects and ad hoc reporting on an as needed basis.

Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Reconcile assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts monthly
• Prepare various accounting reports assigned by the company’s financial team
• Prepare monthly journal entries for multiple divisions
• Gather and prepare information for audit, tax and external financial compliance activities
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes on a timely and accurate basis
• Assist in physical inventory counts
• Contribute to special projects as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Work Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
• Minimum 2-5 years accounting related experience; manufacturing environment experience preferred
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate/advanced use of Excel
• Team oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently
• Excellent, verbal and written business communication and organizational skills
• Willing to learn different aspects of Accounting
• Detail oriented and strong work ethic
• Previous experience with Epicor preferred
