A client of ours in Grand Rapids, MI is searching for a Human Resources Administrator direct hire job opportunity. The pay for this role is experience based.

Duties of a Human Resources Administrator:

  • Serves as primary Contact for plan vendors and third party administrators related to communication files from ADP to Benefits Administration. 
  • Coordinates transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration.
  • Works effectively to make sure benefit plans run smoothly. 
  • Investigates discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations relative to payroll.
  • Follows Safety Policies, procedures and requirements. 
  • Coordinates Human Resource Information System (HRIS) data changes with appropriate managers to ensure employee information is accurately maintained.
  • Reviews with 401(K) organization the calculation of employee benefits and authorizes distribution to eligible participants.  Authorizes the funds to employee deferrals and loan.
  • Advises the 401(K) carrier of the accurate employee deduction and distribution of 401(K) benefits. 
  • Calculates and processes the profit sharing distributions in payroll and 401k administrators.
  • Develops benefit information and census data for actuaries, insurance carriers, and management.
  • Responsible for maintaining company compliance with US HR standards, federal and state laws pertaining to employee benefits, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA and Section 125 plans.
  • Responsible for completing accurate benefit cost projections and identifying changes or enhancements to the company benefit policies and plans.
  • Responsible for gathering, analyzing and reporting on the impact of any potential changes and present recommendations to top management.
  • Implement new file feeds to vendors.
  • Manage the employee stock purchase process.
  • Complete the semi-monthly salaried payroll.
  • Serve as payroll manager for facilities payroll hourly and salaried.
  • Develops and maintain operation process manuals for each division and subject matter that is managed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of Human Resource / Payroll related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of Coordinates Human Resource Information System, federal I-9 forms, employee benefits, and 401(K) information. 
  • Must understand federal, state, and local requirements in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Must be expert level ADP Work Force Now, Etime, and Report Writing.
