ResourceMFG has a great opportunity for a Maintenance Manager within a cosmetic manufacturing company in Chatsworth, CA.


Pay: 130K - 145K DOE

Monday to Friday

Fulltime – direct hire opportunity

Overtime and weekends may be required


Maintenance Manager

Company specializes in formulating, packaging and manufacturing of custom label products for some of the most recognized hair, skincare and cosmetic brands in mass merchandising, professional salon, direct sales and specialty stores is seeking a full time Maintenance Manager.


This position is responsible for managing, mentoring and developing a team of highly skilled production mechanics in a fast paced, dynamic environment by providing coaching, training and direction.  The successful candidate will revitalize the preventive maintenance culture through proficient use of a CMMS and improved utilization of maintenance resources.


The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to:


  • Identify Key Performance Indicators that can help improve technical stoppages and differentiation of production down time/efficiency losses.
  • Identify proper frequency to conduct detailed, complex maintenance tasks.
  • Determine and establish proper P.M. Maintenance schedules.  Identify and train resources to conduct the necessary tasks to capture completeness of preventative maintenance.
  • Recognize all safety risks including electrical, mechanical and all potential energy sources, describing and documenting necessary procedures to mitigate all safety risks.
  • Re-establish maintenance work orders and tasks. Re-build P.M. CMS in allegiance with corporate mandates. (Maintain highest standard and tracking mechanisms)
  • Work in conjunction with Engineering and Production to schedule necessary downtime to perform P.M. and special project tasks.
  • Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced production environment. New products being implemented without specific instructions for set-up or have in place documented instructions.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate and construct the parameters for producing new products.
  • Collect and organize non-routine maintenance tasks and emergency work orders and blend that into a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Prioritize and push back…recognize and distinguish a must have vs. a need-to-have in order to align day-to-day requirements to meet production demands.
  • Create an inventory control system that works in concert with production work order system as well as day to day usage of standard plant operations.
  • Lead 20+ highly skilled maintenance professionals and technicians. Implement techniques to train, coach and elevate maintenance team.
  • Effective, strong employee relations skills with fair evaluation of set-ups, changeovers and other day -to -day responsibilities.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years prior planning experience in a maintenance role
  • Strong proven managerial, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Supervision experience with significant communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word for Windows, Excel Spreadsheet and other applications
