A manufacturing client of ours in Portland, MI is searching for CNC Technicians, all shifts available! The pay for this role is experience based. The right candidate will have a minimum of 2 years in the field, this role is available as a contract to hire or direct hire opportunity.

You will be responsible for CNC operations, train and develop new Operators to the departments, and in some cases work directly with Manufacturing Engineering.

Duties of a CNC Technician: 

  • Maintain RPS throughout manufacturing
  • Maintain a safe work environment. Identify possible safety risks and ensure incident reports are submitted immediately. Address all concerns communicated to you, get your supervisor and/or team leader involved.
  • Utilize 10in6 to manage and report daily production counts, downtime, and improvement opportunities.  This includes monitoring that the correct data is input into the system.
  • Report and understand scrap
  • Understand excessive tool usage and/or breakage
  • Red Tag suspect material to quarantine when necessary.
  • Monitor/Train new employees according to MCQ guidelines.
  • Support tool trials to optimize machining efficiency & reduce cost
  • Assist Quality team on Capability studies
  • Support Maintenance and machine troubleshooting
  • Run production as required.
  • Identify and discuss programming and/or tooling improvements
  • Ability to work overtime.

Job Requirements

  • 2 years experience in the field
  • diploma or equivalent 
  • flexible work schedule / ability to work overtime as needed
