ResoureMFG has a great opportunity for a Regulatory Affairs Team Supervisor within a cosmetics manufacturing company in Chatsworth, CA.


Pay: $80K - $90K

Hours: 7:30am – 5pm

Monday to Friday

Position Description (Brief Summary of Position):

The Regulatory and Business Process Manager is a key and critical role in the organization.  This self-motivated individual will use technical knowledge to stay abreast and interpret the risks involved with the changing global and regional regulatory environments.  The Regulatory and Business Process Manager will be the day to day liaison between customers and our R&D team to support in the development of compliant and safe formulations. The individual will also focus on process improvement in the company’s current business processes and utilize the CDM group to incorporate improved changes related to the quote, pricing, procurement and other processes.  They will utilize process improvement tools to develop teams, charter projects, collaborate departments and prepare communication presentations.  With excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to manage changing priorities and large customer projects to completion with minimal supervision.  


Job responsibilities:

  • Build, lead and manage the Visual Pak CLA/ABF regulatory team.  20%
  • Strategize, interpret and present regulatory position establishing Visual Pak as a Regulatory resource/authority to our customers.  Work closely with new and existing customers to position company Regulatory as a core competence/strength and an opportunity for new business.  20%
  • Interpret and facilitate global compliance, risk assessments and present opportunities for improvement. 10%
  • Evaluate, determine and establish feasibility to support Claim Substantiation (ie., Vegan, Paraben-free, GMO-free, RSPO Compliant, Sulfate-free).  Look for opportunities for platform consolidation as a growth opportunity and sales function for company. 10%
  • Follow, interpret and report on developing Global and Regional Personal Care/Cosmetic Regulations, including but not limited to: US FDA, IFRA, Health Canada, EU Cosmetic Regulation. Keep R&D Team apprised of changing regulations and develop formulation guidelines.  Create plan options to smoothly phase through necessary changes. 10%
  • Presents, facilitates and leads assigned business process improvement events using methods of culture-appropriate team building, data gathering and analysis, problem solving, project management and presentation skills. Coordinate with department management to assure appropriate participation and                                    support, lead instruction on the use of process improvement tools, facilitate team decisions, manage team work, resolve team conflict, assist in the development of implementation action plans, and conduct follow-up Match specific organizational needs as outlined by management, and adapts them to use in the execution of business process improvement events. Provides event follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected benefits. 20%


Nonessential Functions:

  • Special Projects for continuous improvements.  5%
  • Continuous improvement of technical skills by participating in seminars, classes and additional schooling in the personal care industry.          5%


Job Requirements

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience in Regulatory Compliance and 3-5 years in equivalent position with personal care or related products company. 
  • Preferred Education:  Degree in Science related field.


Minimum Acceptable: 

  • BA or BS in science related field.
  • Must be PC literate and literate in Outlook, Word and Power Point, etc.
  • Intermediate to Expert level skills in Microsoft Excel, including using Formulas


Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with PCPC, INCI names, Cosmetic Labeling Requirements.
