Location: West Lafayette, IN

Shift: 1st Shift 

 

Job Summary:  Responsible for coordinating and supervising all production associates, while maintaining a high level of quality, efficiency and on time delivery.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the shop floor.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Efficiently & effectively maintain the flow of jobs through the shop while reducing scrap.
  • Understand production guidelines - ensure that customer satisfaction objectives and company objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure customer due dates, satisfaction and requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Enforce quality assurance programs.
  • Monitor Employee production times and run rates.
  • Provide feedback on job travelers.
  • Participate in planning and executing workflow through the production areas.
  • Ensure all production associates are working safely and efficiently.
  • Schedule overtime as needed to fulfill on time delivery while minimizing labor costs.
  • Assist in the hiring process for production associates and justification of new positions.
  • Participate in production associate reviews and disciplinary actions.
  • Initiate continuous personal and professional development and improvement.
  • Resolve any production associate differences, problems or concerns, while keeping management informed, involve HR when necessary.
  • Promote and implement training with production associates.
  • Promote a safe workplace environment.
  • Be available to provide assistance to operations when required.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

17Qualification Requirements:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of supervision and/or production management experience.
  • Have an advanced understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with production staff and management.
  • Have a basic understanding of MSDS & OSHA safety requirements.
  • Understand and interpret blueprints.
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks while completing them in a timely fashion.
